Missi Roti

Missi roti is  mildly spicy roti that is made with wheat flour and dal.  It is served hot with dollops of white butter. I made this Missi Roti with leftover dal. It’s a very basic recipe that is rich in protein and is healthy too.  Served this missi roti with kache kele (raw banana) ki sabzi.

Ingredients

Whole wheat flour- 2 cups
Leftover dal- 1 cup
Onion – 1, grated
Green chilli- 2, chopped
Garlic- 2, crushed
Red chilli powder -1 tsp
Haldi – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 tbsp

Mix the above mentioned ingredients together and knead it  to make a soft dough.

Roll it out into a thick roti and cook with ghee on a screaming hot iron griddle or tawa. Serve with white butter or ghee.

Recipe of the banana curry:  Boil peeled whole bananas and then shallow fried  it with a gram flour and spice coating.  Prepare a gravy made of onion, ginger, green chilli in a yoghurt base and add the bananas to it.
