Cuisine: American
- 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Cornflour
- 2 tbsp Caster sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 cups Milk
- 4 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cornflour, caster sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir to combine well.
In a separate bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth and well blended.
Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, gently whisking until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to maintain a light, fluffy texture.
Let the batter sit for about 15 minutes to thicken slightly.
Preheat your waffle maker and lightly grease it. Pour a ladle of batter into the centre, close the lid, and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until golden and crispy on the outside.
Serve hot with butter, maple syrup, honey, or any toppings of choice. Enjoy!
