Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour
  • 2 tbsp Caster sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 4 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cornflour, caster sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir to combine well.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth and well blended.
  • Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, gently whisking until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to maintain a light, fluffy texture.
  • Let the batter sit for about 15 minutes to thicken slightly.
  • Preheat your waffle maker and lightly grease it. Pour a ladle of batter into the centre, close the lid, and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until golden and crispy on the outside.
