Easy Airfryer Cherry Handpies
Easy cherry hand pies made with flaky puff pastry and a jammy cherry filling, brushed with milk, sprinkled with sugar, and baked or air fried to golden perfection.

For the Filling
- 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen cherries pitted
- 3 tbsp brown sugar adjust based on cherry sweetness
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Assembly:
- 1 large sheet of store-bought puff pastry thawed
- 1 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Filling
In a small saucepan, combine cherries, brown sugar, cornflour, and lemon juice.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and becomes jam-like (about 8–10 minutes).
Remove from heat and let cool completely.
Hand Pies
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or set your air fryer to 360°F (180°C).
Lightly flour your work surface with 1 tablespoon of flour and roll out the puff pastry sheet. Cut into 4 equal-sized parts
Spoon a 1-2 tbsp of cherry filling onto the bottom half of the rectangles, leaving a ½-inch border.
Place the remaining rectangles on top of the filled ones. Use a fork to crimp the edges and seal. Score the tops of each pie with a knife to allow steam to escape.
Brush the tops of the pies with milk and sprinkle with brown sugar.
For Baking: Arrange pies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
For Air Frying: Place pies in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 10–12 minutes, or until crisp and golden.
